Contact Details of the Central Office
The National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing wishes to provide
assistance in answering questions through detailed information on the stay of
foreigners exceeding 90days within a 180-day period, issues related to reporting
obligations and asylum on its website.
Please read the information below before writing an email to us:
1. Please take note of information materials provided on NDGAP’s website,
under the “Residence in Hungary” and the “As a Refugee in Hungary” menu
sections under which detailed description is available about the related procedures.
2. NDGAP’s obligation to provide information covers answering only inquires
related to asylum and aliens policing procedures falling under the scope of the
National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing. As described above, NDGAP
does not provide information – amongst other – on the following topics:
· bordercrossing (please inquire about this topic from the body responsible
for general police tasks)
· short-term visas (if needed) for a stay not exceeding 90 days within a
180-day period (please inquire from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade)
· acquiring Hungarian nationality, naturalization (please inquire from the competent
Government Office or the Office of the President of the Republic).
3. It is not possible to book an appointment via email or telephone. We
recommend you to use the “Booking an appointment” function available on our
website. We inform you, that appointments are generally available 2 weeks ahead;
therefore, we recommend you to check the module regularly as new time slots are
opened continuously.
Due to data protection and confidentiality regulations it is not possible
to provide information on ongoing aliens policing or asylum procedures via email. In case you would like to receive information on an ongoing case, please
visit the regional directorate acting on your case during office hours or the
foreign representation where you have submitted your application.
We hereby would like to draw attention to the fact that in case the
information inquired in e-mail is available on our website or falls out of the
competence of the National Directorate-General for Aliens Policing, our authority
does not answer your email, in other cases answer is sent within the
general deadline for case management.
